淹死鱼：当地有一种浮鱼,只能躺在水面上浮动，入水便会淹死，虽属鱼类,但呼吸器官近似陆栖动物。
蜡烛蛇：在几内亚海湾的洛俾岛上，居民夜晚常用一种名叫“库加沙”的蛇照明。这种蛇全身赤红似火，体内含大量脂肪。人们捕蛇后去除内脏，穿入棉芯，晒干备用。干蛇点燃后如蜡烛燃烧，亮度超过煤油灯，一条蜡烛蛇通常可用数夜。
凉席树：有一种树形状如芭蕉，四季常绿，高约10公尺，叶长可达6公尺，阔3公尺，叶面光滑无刺，且散异香，躺在上面凉爽舒适，堪称妙趣天成的凉席。
怪香蕉：几内亚的大香蕉一般每支重达半公斤以上，个头大，肉质厚，不甜腻，常为居民的主食。收获季节，一日三餐以蕉代食。平时可晒干磨粉，掺入少许面粉，烤成面包，香气四溢；如切片油炸，则外焦里嫩，色香味俱全。另有一种香蕉树高达七八公尺，蕉小质优，清滑香甜，入口即化。
“金丝雀香蕉”长期存放后仍然色泽鲜活，味道纯正。
